Who We Are
"Conserving, Restoring and Educating through fly-fishing". Our group strives to uphold this concept throughout our club and community.
The Grand River Fly Tyer's membership includes a wide variety of experience levels. From root beginners to more advanced fly casters, international award winners, professional guides, fly shop owners, and professional tyers! You might be surprised at who is sitting next to you at a meeting or fishing beside you on the river! While our main focus is on the art and science of fly tying,
we are also avid fly anglers... some of our members organize and expedite trips including such exotic locales as Labrador, Alaska, SW Florida, and Argentina; where the fish are measured in pounds, not inches.
One of our top priorities as responsible fly fishermen is to be aware not only of the beauty of the stream, but also that which may jeopardize its very existence. We are dedicated to fighting for our rights as fly fishermen and to keep our streams free flowing and clean.
