Who are the Grand River Fly Tyers?

We are a charter club of the FFF, the Federation of Fly Fishers, and the only club in midwest-Michigan to focus on fly tying. Our motto is: "Conserving, Restoring and Educating through fly-fishing".

Fly tying clubs in Michigan-fly fishing for beginners and experts. The Grand River Fly Tyer's membership includes a wide variety of experience levels. From root beginners to more advanced fly flinger's to professional guides, fly shop owners, and professional tyers! You might be surprised at who is a member! While our main focus is on the art of fly tying, we are also avid anglers... some of our members organize and expedite trips across North America including such exotic locales as Labrador, a land where the trout are measured in pounds, not inches.

Beyond all the fun of tying and fishing are the core and important issues of our day as modern fisherman living in Michigan. One of our top priorities as responsible fishermen is to be aware not only of the beauty of the stream but also that which may jeapordize it's very existance. We are dedicated to fighting for our rights as fishermen and to keep our streams free flowing and clean.

FFF membership is a requirement for membership in the Grand River Fly Tyers, and we support all FFF goals.
